11 September 2023, 19:33

This is the second closure of Skoda factories in 2023

The Czech automaker Skoda is forced to stop producing cars by closing the plant in Kvasiny. About it reports Investment website.

The company said that the conveyor had to be stopped due to a lack of spare parts from the Slovenian supplier. Skoda has begun testing suppliers from China.

According to Jaroslav Povshik, head of the works council and leader of the Skoda Auto trade union, production of all models except the all-electric Enyaq will be stopped.

In addition to the plant in Kvasiny, the company also does not rule out a partial reduction in production at the plant in Mladá Boleslav.

Components for Skoda engines were supplied by a company from Slovenia. This plant was damaged by the recent floods in the country. This is the second closure of Skoda factories in 2023, the company previously limited production at the end of January due to a shortage of chips.
