Czech athletes will compete in new national team jerseys at the European Championships next week. The dominant color of their uniforms will be white instead of the current red. The change in the design of the representative clothing is related to the change in its supplier, which is the new Spanish company Joma.
The very first event with a new partner was the Czech half-marathon championship in Pardubice in April. The national team did not get the clothes for the World Cup, as originally planned, but only now for the European Championship. White has dominated the jerseys of Czech athletes before. “I am very pleased that we are returning to the national colors. I really like the new design of the jerseys,” said Libor Varhaník, chairman of the Czech Athletics Association, at today’s press conference.
The collection was also demonstrated live today by some of the more than five dozen athletes who will wear it directly at the Olympic Stadium in Munich. “I had the opportunity to run a little in it, I filmed a running sport with it. I like that it is a return to more traditional colors, the white one resonates with us,” said mile runner Jan Friš. “I think that she is above all decent and that there will be something to watch at the European Championships in Munich,” added Diana Mezuliáníková.
She likes to groom herself before competitions. “It’s kind of a routine for me and it’s more to kill time in quotes. I usually start late in the evening, so I put on a watch,” said the runner, who usually starts wearing make-up. But it is not necessary. “I’ve already started at races in Spain, where I completely forgot everything about beautification, and I ran well. So it doesn’t matter that I wouldn’t have been able to stand at the start without the makeup. It’s more for a good feeling,” she added.
In addition to adult athletes, members of youth national selections starting with fifteen-year-old athletes should also wear the same representative clothing.
