Czech and Slovak billionaires. Who are the richest women of 2020?

There are fewer women than in the ranking of the richest people in the world and in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Nevertheless, there are many who were not afraid to start their own business and succeeded. At the same time, they built their property in various fields, from insurance to furniture production to modern technology.

There are still significantly fewer women than men on the top floors of business; in the ranking of the richest Czechs and Slovaks in the E15 Magazine, only two have worked their way into the top 100 this year. But none of them started their business, from which their property comes.

The first of these is Mária Blašková, the widow of Ľubomír Blašek, who first became involved in the coal trade and, after privatization in the 1990s, gradually controlled Třinecké železárny – Moravia Steel with Tomáš Chrenek, Ján Móder and Evžen Balek. Blašková no longer expands her husband’s share in the steel giant and remains in seclusion.

The second richest woman in the ranking, Jitka Cechlová Komárková, is not looking for the public either. She is the owner of the Bohumín engineering plant Bonatrans Group, the largest manufacturer of railway wheelsets, and she and her husband came to the factory while dividing the property of the Komárek family empire. According to her father Karel Komárek st. however, his share in the company was acquired in 2010 in an unfair way. Since then, the family has not spoken to each other and the case has been settled by the courts. So far, Cechlová lost the last dispute with her father in 2018 before the Liechtenstein Supreme Court, which ordered the return of property representation to the situation before 2010. The billionaire is thus in danger of losing her property.

By self-infliction

Nevertheless, there are a number of billionaires and multimillionaires in the Czech Republic who have built companies or participated in their creation, but their assets are not yet enough for the top 100.
