In 2017, when Cyril Ferrier, BPJEPS State graduate (Professional Brevet for Youth, Popular Education and Sport), took over the sports hall, in the heart of the spiripontane city. He did not know, like many people, that his activity would be slowed down, then shut down during the Covid-19.
Located in the city center, Bodylife is one of the oldest sports halls in Pont. “The atmosphere is family. When I returned to the gym, I had set up group lessons in Pilates, yoga, zumba, muscle strengthening”, explains the manager. Today, Cyril Ferrier is like a lion in a cage. He does not wait for the doors to open towards freedom, but, on the contrary, for the members to push the doors towards him! “Before the onset of the pandemic, I was in full development, in the sense that I was looking to develop the room. I had the opportunity to enlarge the premises which allowed me to have more machines, around sixty spread over more than 300 m² “, he confides.
These different machines allow all types of work on the body, ranging from muscle building, bodybuilding, weight lifting, for confirmed women and men or beginners. The Covid-19 has closed the sports halls.
What conditions for the reopening?
“ Since the beginning of the year, the room has been closed to the public, with the exception of people with sufficient pathologies or for sports competitions. A certificate is required to come to the room, explains the manager. There are four to five people in the different rooms at specific times. The machines are disinfected after each visit. There are hydro-alcoholic solutions everywhere as well as disinfectant bombs “.
Like everyone else, he heard that the sports halls could reopen soon: “I’m all set. I’m seething, impatient. The group lessons are ready to restart and the expansions have made it possible to have more space.”
As of March 2020, Bodylife had seventy members. After a venue closed at the start of the year, this figure has practically doubled. The room is ready to receive its members, the new ones. But as regards the conditions, the manager is in the dark: “ Lhe problem is that I am ready, but when and how many people to come and play sports. I am in the unknown. “
