Cyprus: A Greek student died in a traffic accident in Nicosia –

A twenty-year-old student from Greece, E.K., lost her life today in a fatal road collision in Nicosia. According to the Cyprus Police, a rental car driven by a 20-year-old man in the Engomi area of ​​Nicosia, with a 20-year-old passenger as co-driver and five other passengers in the back seat (three men and two women – aged 28, 21, 20 and two 20-year-olds), in some point of the road, reaching a roundabout, under circumstances that are being investigated, deviated from its course, it hit the fence of an adjacent building, as well as a traffic sign, where it stopped.

The 20-year-old passenger and the two 20-year-old girls were injured in the collision and were taken by ambulance to Nicosia General Hospital, where the doctor certified the death of one of the girls.

As for the 20-year-old injured, it was found that he suffered a fractured elbow, while the second 20-year-old woman was detained for further examinations. The driver of the car was subjected to a final alcohol test with a reading of 55µg% instead of 9µg% which is the permitted limit. A warrant was issued against him and he was arrested to facilitate investigations. The Nicosia Traffic Police is investigating the causes of the traffic collision.
