On May 9, on the ashes in the Kurgan village of Uldus, where seven people became victims of fires, the banner of Victory was erected.
The Kurgan region has been burning for several days. An emergency mode was introduced in the region, and the authorities depict a type of vigorous activity with extremely limited opportunities to fight the fire.
The strongest element claimed the lives of 21 people. According to TASS, citing a source in medical circles, this figure may increase.
The fire destroyed more than 300 houses and 3.9 thousand buildings, almost a thousand people were evacuated. However, the act of the local administration, dedicated to the Victory Day, became an unheard of cynicism. In the most affected village of Uldus, by May 9, a copy of the Victory banner was installed – right on the ashes.
The authorities of the region have already promised to pay compensation to the families of the victims – one million rubles.
As previously reported, on April 27, a large-scale fire flared up in the Kurgan region – more than 70 houses burned in the village of Legkovushki.
Forest fires also covered the Siberian regions and are destroying settlements and vast areas of forest plantations. Local residents say that the fire is not new to them, but they cannot remember an emergency of this magnitude.
And near Tyumen, due to a strong fire, residents of the village of Uspenka were evacuated – other villages in the vicinity of the city were at risk. The villagers, not believing in the capabilities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, tried to stop fire icons.
