Cyclone Biporjoy May Affect Various Governorates Including Muscat: Oman Meteorological Center Warns

Muscat: The Oman Meteorological Center has warned that Cyclone Biporjoy, which has formed in the Arabian Sea, may affect various governorates including Muscat from next Monday. It is more likely that the cyclone will move towards the coasts of the Sultanate without entering Oman.

The wind is northwesterly near the coast of Oman. Abdullah Al Khaduri, Director General of the Directorate General of Meteorology, said that the coasts of the Sultanate will face a direct impact from Sunday evening or Monday morning. The Oman Meteorological Center is closely monitoring the situation. Issue a warning circular on Thursday evening or Friday morning in case the cyclone moves towards the northwest coast. The cyclone is most likely to move towards the coasts of the Sultanate without entering Oman. Cyclone continues to move northwards towards central Arabian Sea. The center of the cyclone is 1,133 km away from the coast of Oman, officials said.
