cyclists and scooter users called to order in Lyon

Lights and brakes in order, passenger transport prohibited without a fixed seat, headphones prohibited… It is always a good idea to remind cyclists and scooter users of the rules of good behavior on the road, for their own safety.

It is with this in mind that the Rhône prefecture organized, this Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., at the intersection of the Pont Lafayette and the Quai Augagneur, an awareness-raising operation intended for users of soft modes of transport.

“The brightness drops much earlier”

The delegated prefect for defense and security, Juliette Bossart-Trignat, was present alongside the national police officers (DIPN du Rhône) and departmental road safety workers (IDSR).

“We do this operation the week of the time change, because the light drops much earlier, and users have not yet acquired the new reflexes, particularly when it comes to wearing reflective strips,” explains Juliette Bossart-Trignat .

“It’s happening for today”

Riding a bicycle, a young man with headphones on is stopped by a police officer who signals him to stop: “Normally, it’s a €135 fine,” the officer explains to him. “It’s okay for today, because we don’t issue fines during this operation,” he adds. Relieved to avoid punishment, the young man promises to be more careful in the future.
