The emergency services were notified of the accident at 8.45 on Wednesday morning.
– We have just arrived with an ambulance. It is a collision where a cyclist and an excavator are involved. Who has ridden on whom is too early to say, says operations manager Trond Volden to NTB at 9 o’clock on Wednesday.
He says the cyclist is being examined by health personnel on site.
– She is conscious, but the extent of the damage is unknown, Volden says.
To Address informs the police that the woman has been taken to St. Olav’s hospital.
– The incident happened when a wheeled excavator came driving towards the center. It was to cross the bicycle lane to turn into Thomas von Westens gate. There was a cyclist who was hit, says Volden.
Police are directing traffic at the scene and are investigating the incident.
