Cyclist Mathias Vacek was fourth in the second stage of the Under-23 Peace Race

After a 135 km long route from Bruntál to Dlouhé strání, Vacek reached the finish line with a loss of four seconds to Lennert van Eetvelt from Belgium, who defeated Alejandro Franco from Spain and Rudy Porter from Australia in a spurt.

Van Eetvelt moved to the front with a lead of 13 seconds over Porter. The winner of Thursday’s prologue Vacek loses 14 seconds to the leader.

“Today it was a carving,” said Mathias Vacek in a press release, who was helped by his brother Kamil in the final climb. “My brother pulled me there, but in the end I had cramps and I didn’t have it anymore. This climb is extreme,” he added.

Bittner reached the finish line on Dlouhé strány, where the peloton visited twice today, in 49th place with a loss of eleven minutes. He also fell from the first position in the current classification from the first position.
