A gunman riding a bicycle opened fire on a car at a traffic light in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, killing a man in the front passenger seat. the New York police reported.
The 37-year-old victim, whose name has not yet been released, was sitting in a Jeep Grand Cherokee stopped at a red light at Classon and Atlantic avenues around 10:55 p.m. Wednesday when the assailant approached the passenger side window, NYPD said.
The unidentified attacker fired at the Jeep, wounding the passenger in the chest and leg, then fled. The woman behind the wheel started the gear, but crashed a short distance away on Classon Avenue, authorities said.
Both occupants were taken to an area hospital, where the man succumbed to his injuries. The driver was reported in stable condition, she highlighted Pix11.

The shooting came amid a wave of gun violence in the five boroughs of New York. After the increase in shootings in 2020 and 2021, particularly among young gang members and/or victims, 2022 continues with the same trend, putting up a great challenge to the new mayor Adams, who since taking office in January has found obstacles within his own Democratic party y Black Lives Matter (BLM) leaders to face the crisis.
