The emergency services responded to an accident in Langfjordbotn in Alta on Saturday morning.
– We were notified at 09.29 that a car had run over a cyclist. This must have happened when the motorist was about to pass the cyclist, says operations manager Leo Johansen.
The cyclist was injured and was flown to hospital in Tromsø by air ambulance.
– The person in question was conscious when we were first notified of the accident, but was unconscious when the air ambulance took off, Johansen says.
The police will investigate the incident.
