Cycling, Tour de France. Pogacar: ‘If I have the leg I will attack’

After the second day of rest, the race restarts today with the 16th stage from Pas de la Case to Saint Gaudens, in the Pyrenees. The Slovenian yellow jersey is ready for the last week. Nibali has already returned home and has retired to prepare for the Games

After the second day of rest, the Tour de France restarts on Tuesday with the 16th stage from Pas de la Case to Saint Gaudens for 191.3 km. First of six fractions that will close the Grand Boucle with Tadej Pogacar (UAE-Emirates) in the yellow jersey. The Slovenian has an advantage of 5’18 “over the Colombian Rigoberto Uran (Ef-Nippo) and 5’32” over the Danish Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma). The riders will have to tackle 4 Gpm: among these the Portet d’Aspet (5.4 km at 7.1%) to be climbed 33 km from the finish.

On the day of rest, Slovenian Pogacar went out for an hour-long walk. “I wanted to enjoy the nature of Andorra. I can’t wait to attack in the Pyrenees to test my legs on those climbs. The overall condition is good but it is logical that there is some tiredness” said the yellow jersey. it projects itself on the last stages. “If I have the opportunity to keep increasing my lead, I will, because you never know what can happen next.” Pogacar also wanted to respond to those who raise doubts about him. “I come from a good family who educated me well and never taught me to take shortcuts.
