Friedberg (pm). The city of Friedberg has evaluated the results of this year’s city cycling campaign and is pleased to announce a total of twelve winners in four categories. Thanks to the commitment of 162 cyclists in 16 teams, a total of 30,291 kilometers were covered. According to the press release from Friedberg climate protection manager Dr.

City cycling is a Germany-wide campaign by the Climate Alliance that motivates municipalities to make a contribution to climate protection through cycling. The aim is to cover as many everyday journeys as possible by bike in a climate-friendly way and thus promote the transport transition. The 2024 city cycling event took place in Friedberg from June 8th to 28th and brought people of all ages together.
The city of Friedberg awards prizes with a total value of 360 euros in the form of “Friedberg Zehner” vouchers. Now the winning teams and categories: In category 1: “The largest active teams” the prizes went to the teams “Hands On!”, “Ossenheim radelt” and the THM team. Category 2 was about the most trips per capita. The “Bioradler Ockstadt” were successful there. Category 3 evaluated the best individual performance, taking into account participants who had covered at least 700 kilometers. The highest mileage was between 702 and 1,325 kilometers. Particularly impressive was an individual effort of 1,325 kilometers, which secured the top position in this category. Category 4 was about age. The youngest participant, who covered 28 kilometers at the age of just ten, deserves special mention. A total of twelve “Friedberger Zehner” worth 30 euros each were awarded in recognition of the outstanding achievements.
For the coming year, the city of Friedberg plans to honor the winners of the city cycling campaign at a festive reception and celebrate their successes together.
