The new high-speed cycle connection Frankfurt-Darmstadt is making headway.
“We are making bicycles an attractive alternative in regional commuter traffic,” said Hesse’s Transport Minister Tarek Al-Wazir during a construction site visit in Langen, where work is currently being carried out on the third section.
Hesse’s first rapid cycle connection is to run over 35 kilometers from Darmstadt via Erzhausen, Egelsbach, Langen, Dreieich and Neu-Isenburg to Frankfurt. A 4.3-kilometer stretch between Darmstadt-Wixhausen station and Egelsbach is already in operation, and the section between Egelsbach and Langen is due to be completed in autumn.
