“Using image search, it is not difficult to find basic information about the owner of the photo, such as name, social media connections, age, email, among others. Therefore, if any suspicious communication occurs, the user should contact the financial institution, or consumer protection organizations”, he said.
The leak raises serious concerns about the security of Brazilian citizens’ sensitive information. According to the cybersecurity company, these criminals have been working with global actors, committing financial extortion against Brazilian companies, mainly using ransomware – malicious software – and building data.
