Cyberpunk made by Ubisoft? The artwork of a game that has never been released appears

For better or for worse, Cyberpunk 2077 is dominating the videogame scene in late 2020. The imagery represented within CD Projekt’s RPG is on trend like never before, and so Raphael Lacoste, artistic director of Ubisoft, took the opportunity to show the concept art of a never published cyberpunk project.

As evidenced by the screenshots shown at the bottom of the news, the French house was thinking of giving life to a project set in the same setting that you play as Deus Ex and Cyberpunk 2077 they helped make it popular with gamers. That it could be a progetto relativo a Beyond Good & Evil, a reinterpretation of Assassin’s Creed O Far Cry set in a futuristic context, or a completely original IP? Impossible to say, since Lacoste himself limited himself to revealing that concept art date back a good ten years ago. The project was then scrapped, and there was never any official mention from Ubisoft regarding the title.

It is still very interesting to take a look at the inspired by Lacoste designs: for example, we can admire the port area of a metropolis dotted with towering skyscrapers, a luxurious apartment, and some of the intricate and crowded streets in which our protagonist could have moved. What do you think of these images? Would you like to see a Ubisoft series set in a cyberpunk context? Speaking of discarded projects, new backstories have emerged regarding the cancellation of Agent by Rockstar.
