«Cyberpunk 2077», made by CD Projekt Red, is still one of the most awaited PC games this year – despite the two postponements. Now that we have taken a look at what the game looks like, it turns out that everyone who has a PC is included ray tracinghardware can enjoy even more
CD Projekt Red has just uploaded a new official trailer for “Cyberpunk 2077”, and although the video shows both the game in action and some hints about the story, perhaps the most interesting is how it looks. You see some obvious use of ray tracing in what was shown, but Nvidia has also contacted additional information about exactly how much ray tracing we can expect.
Have you got a PC with an RTX-video one can look forward to ray tracing in so-called ambient occulsion, diffuse illumination, reflections and shadows. The options for ray tracing in ambient occlusion and diffuse illumination will probably be the most interesting, as these settings will have a major impact on how the city will look in its murk and darkness. At the same time, ray tracing in the reflections will make everything look far more realistic. Of course, the game will also support DLSS 2.0, so you can turn everything on without having to worry about it all looking like a slideshow.
If you combine all this, you end up with a product that is one of the most complex ray tracing games we have ever seen, only beaten (in the number of settings you can turn on) of last year «Control». And given that “Cyberpunk 2077” generally holds sky-high in terms of visual quality, this could end up being a good clue to what PS5 and Xbox Series X are capable, graphically, when released at the end of the year – which may be one of the reasons why the game is now launching at about the same time as the two consoles mentioned above.
No matter how you twist and turn it, “Cyberpunk 2077” seems to be one of the most graphically impressive PC games we’ve seen in quite some time, and you can be sure we’ll test how well the best The video cards are ready to run the game when it launches November 19, 2020.
