CD Projekt RED has provided updated information on Cyberpunk 2077 system requirements for PC users. The team has repeatedly emphasized that players will need more powerful components.
Update 2.0 for Cyberpunk 2077 will not only bring a number of improvements, new content and improved systems, but will also require the PC community to prepare accordingly. System requirements have changed.
“Attention gamers! The upcoming Cyberpunk update 2.0 will bring some interesting changes to the game, including updated system requirements. We remind you that the game update will only support SSD drives. Don’t forget to check if your computer meets the new requirements!
If you use mods, we recommend removing them before update 2.0 is released. Due to the sheer number of changes, they may cause more problems than usual. Wait for the modding community to update them to the new version of the game.”
Thus, to play after the update you will need, for example, a GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER with an Intel Core i7-12700 and 16 GB of RAM in accordance with the recommended settings – at 1080p resolution with a frequency of 60 frames per second.
If the player wants to explore Night City in all its glory, then a GeForce RTX 4080 with Intel Core i9-12900 and 24 GB is required.
The developers emphasize that, regardless of the selected settings, Cyberpunk 2077 will only work fully with SSD drives – you must prepare at least 70 GB of disk space.
The studio has confirmed that due to the huge list of changes, players should uninstall modifications. Mod authors need to update their works to the latest version of Cyberpunk to avoid more difficulties and problems than usual.
