Cyberpunk 2077 Studio Breaks Promise, Sets Six-Day Work Week | NOW

Gamemaker CD Projekt Red is going to ask its employees to work six days a week anyway, reports Bloomberg Tuesday evening. The company had previously promised not to demand overtime.

The maker of the popular The Witcherseries suggested its upcoming game Cyberpunk 2077 already out twice. Now, the company is having its employees work extra overtime to meet its targeted November 19 release date.

The company ran into problems earlier because of the strict overtime culture in the workplace. Various executives promised to improve last year Bloomberg-journalist Jason Schreier.

But in an email in the hands of Schreier, studio head Adam Badowski says he has “no choice” but to force a longer workweek. “I know this goes against everything we’ve said about overtime before. But we’ve run out of all the other options.”
