Cyberpunk 2077 has sold 25 million copies. Developer CD Projekt RED reported this during its Investor Day presentation. The new expansion for that game, Phantom Liberty, sold three million copies in the first week of release.

CD Projekt RED CEO Adam Kiciński confirmed Cyberpunk 2077’s new sales milestone on Thursday. The title has sold approximately five million times in the past year. A year ago, in September 2022, Cyberpunk 2077 passed twenty million copies sold.

Cyberpunk sold 25 million copies in two years and ten months. The Witcher 3 reached that sales number in about 4.5 years, the executive said. According to previous figures, the game was pre-ordered eight million times. In the release month of December 2020, Cyberpunk 2077’s total sales number rose to 13 million.

CD Projekt RED CFO Piotr Nielubowicz further confirmed that the Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty expansion sold three million units in the first week of release. That expansion was released on September 26, just after a 2.0 update that made major adjustments to the game. The game thus received, among other things, a new system for perks.

Cyberpunk 2077 was released on December 10, 2020 and was received mainly negatively. Upon release, many players faced bugs and performance issues. Since then, the developer has released several hotfixes and major updates. The PS5 and Xbox Series versions of the game were released in February 2022.
