After the announcement of CD Projekt co-founder Marcin Iwinski, there were many negative reviews, including the statement by Jason Schreier of Bloomberg, who spoke about the rates of testers. In his opinion, such employees earn 12-15 dollars per hour, work hardest, and often found errors are ignored.

Lukasz Babel, head of quality assurance at CD Projekt RED, disagrees with this opinion. According to him, novice testers earn about 75% of the average in Poland, and the salary of experienced testers can reach 200%. Individuals in need receive free private health care, a minimum of 20 paid vacation days, a 150/200% overtime bonus and an annual bonus payment (10% of CDPR’s annual income for all employees). After the probationary period, employees are hired full-time.
Lukasz Babel noted that Marcin Iwinski did not blame the testers in his speech, but, in his opinion, the statement should be written differently, because what is presented leaves a lot of fantasy. The head of the testing department confirms that the patches are being worked on, and the players will get the maximum pleasure from the game.
Schreyer clarified that many industry employees (including Babel’s colleagues) perceived the words of the co-founder of CD Projekt as blaming the testers.
