Unfortunately, Cyberpunk 2077 seems to have much deeper problems than just visual glitches or frequent crashes. Many of the aspects of the newest CDP RED game would need tweaking, but these are the themes that it would be difficult to modify at this stage through patches.

It’s about basic gameplay elements – flaws that occur both on PC and consoles. Most of the players complain about unrealistic behavior of NPCsliving in Night City. Characters suddenly appear in front of the players – this also applies to police officers. The law enforcement officers do not pursue pursuits, but limit their activities to the place where they “teleported” (the police often materialize out of thin air, in front of the player). On the other hand, civilians hardly ever react in a meaningful way to shootings or threats, but only crouch in place.
However, the most controversial in the context of AI behavior is raised by the way in which CDP RED generates traffic. It turns out that cars run on rails in Night City. Algorithms managing driver behavior are limited only to stopping in front of the player – cars don’t even try to avoid small blockages, to which we have been used to games imitating the Grand Theft Auto series for many years. Due to the fact that cars in Cyberpunk 2077 drive on rigid routes, which AI cannot modify, we can forget, for example, about police chases, in addition to scripted story missions. There is such an SI model both on consoles and PC.
It’s worth checking out the video from TheRealAirplane99. The YouTube user compared the behavior of NPCs with Cyberpunk 2077 i Grand Theft Auto V, released in 2013.
