Cyberpunk 2077 developer charged with game lies

According to the investors, CD Project Red knowingly lied to them. When asked if the game was out this year, the board said the version for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One was in good condition.

The reality turned out to be different: bugs and other bugs plagued the game shortly after release, which led to criticism from gamers and reviewers alike. The aforementioned editions for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One had the most problems, as the game turned out to be too heavy for that older hardware.

Share plummeted

The problems prompted Sony to remove the game from its digital store and stores worldwide warning customers before purchasing it. CD Project Red apologized and promised to fix the issues as soon as possible.

The game company’s share plummeted by 42 percent due to the problems, some led to the lawsuit. Investors believe the value has fallen after being knowingly lied to.

Class-action

The lawsuit is a so-called class action, which means that any victim can join it. The dispute will be fought in a US court.

It is unclear exactly when the lawsuit will start. Courts are now largely closed for Christmas, while the case was filed on Christmas Eve.
