Nvidia has announced that Deep Learning Super Collection functionality (known as DLSS) come to six new games this month, which is the most current in the bunch «Cyberpunk 2077», the big game that was launched on December 10th.
Now that ray tracing is gaining a foothold in the gaming industry, technologies like DLSS are becoming increasingly important, as these enable higher FPS as you screw up the new, advanced and demanding settings.

«Cyberpunk 2077», launched on December 10, is a representative game in that respect, and requires a bit of a monster to be able to play in a smooth flow at an acceptable resolution – often higher specifications than most people are sitting on today.
If you own an Nvidia GeForce RTX video card, such as RTX 2060 or RTX 2080 Ti, you can use DLSS to get far better performance in the game without sacrificing resolution or having to fire at the other settings.
Minecraft with RTXeffects turned on is now out of beta, and has been officially released for Windows 10. This title is yet another example of a game that will really get your GPU running, and that will benefit greatly from Nvidia’s upscaling software . By turning on DLSS you can expect a doubling in the number of FPS.
The six games that were now announced with DLSS support are as follows:

OK, but how much does DLSS help?
The difference in FPS you see in the picture above is on the verge of being miraculous, and when we performed our own internal tests to find out how much you have to earn on DLSS we came to about the same: This seems to be a kind of technology’s answer to black magic – and you can be happy if you are one of the lucky ones who won the RTX lottery at the launches of the new RTX 3000 cards.
We drove «Death Stranding» with all settings turned up to the absolute highest levels, and ended up with 23.3 FPS on average, so even though the game looked fantastic, it was difficult to get any particular enjoyment out of the experience. When we turned on DLSS and the so-called performance mode the FPS number jumped up to an average of 39.8 and a maximum FPS of 49, this despite the fact that all possible graphic ingenuity was turned on – and resolution was set to 8K. The fact that Nvidia can enable an FPS jump of this size, without any hardware replacement involved, is a boon for anyone who really wants to push the graphics boundaries of AAA games.
Including this announcement, the game library that supports DLSS has grown to 32. It may not sound like much, but the list is growing slowly but surely, and many major games are already on the list, including “Monster Hunter: World”, “Battlefield V” and “Control ».
Nvidia has promised that “more games are waiting behind the scenes to be announced and launched in the coming weeks and months”, so if you hope to experience that a specific game gets a solid jump in performance thanks to AI magic, then it can be as simple as lubricating yourself with a little patience.
