Cyan Worlds Releases 2021 Myst Remake For Modern iOS Devices – Gaming – News

The iPhone 13 and 14 both have an A15, right? If you can only play this game with an A12, then you’re looking at phones and iPads from around 2017-2019 somewhere. (The A12 for phones, and the A12X and A12Z for iPads. I have a Pro 2018 with an A12X.)

I also have the older remake “RealMyst Masterpiece”, but I never really played it because the colors in the game are really not nice. The contrast is way too high: dark parts are pitch dark, bright parts are super bright, and at times even in daylight you need the flashlight to illuminate dark parts in the shadows because they are just almost black.

Maybe I should take a look at this version. It is already the umpteenth remake:
Myst -> Myst Masterpiece (with better graphics and sound) -> realMyst (3D) -> realMyst Masterpiece (3D with better graphics but bad colors.)

In the meantime I also have Riven and everything that comes after it, but I really can’t get into Riven anymore. The graphics are just TOO bad on modern computers and monitors (even if you run the game with improved upscaling in the ScummVM engine.) Often I just miss clickable things in the game because it’s no longer clear that you can click on them. That’s why I never really played the sequels and ended up sticking with Myst.

(Maybe I should also check out Obduction, which I got as a gift on GoG.com during some promotion.)
