After receiving a complaint about fish mortality in Lake Chilicote, in Tuluá, the CVC proceeded to make a technical visit to process the citizen’s petition.
During the tour, normal conditions in terms of smell and color in the reservoir were evidenced, likewise, it was verified that the ditches and canals were conducting water to the lake, with the assigned flow, to guarantee a replacement and a level in the water mirror. .
Although this is not the first time that this situation has occurred in the wetland, the Co-management Committee of Lake Chilicote, in which the CVC has a seat, agreed to carry out various tasks and continue monitoring this natural environment, through of the environmental entity and the Mayor’s Office of Tuluá.
For its part, the CVC will carry out a sample of the water for a physical-chemical analysis of conditions in its environmental laboratory in Cali, in order to determine if there is any type of polluting agent or any condition of the water that has induced, or is the cause of the death of the fish.
Finally, a wetland recovery and cleaning activity was scheduled with various stakeholders from the municipality, in favor of the adaptation and maintenance of this space.
