It may be surprising that the Ukrainians received camouflage nets with a desert pattern for their CV9040C. Probably such Barracudas were in Swedish warehouses and were easily available. It is also worth remembering that some of the over 50 CV9040C vehicles donated to Ukraine previously took part in a mission in Afghanistan, where they were equipped with exactly such nets.
However, taking into account that the main camouflage of the Barracuda protects the vehicles against homing lasers and radars, it can be effectively used on the Ukrainian front.
This is one of the variants of the CV90 series (also called Stridsfordon 90, Polish: Combat Vehicle 90), which is a Swedish infantry vehicle used to support armored attacks and transport soldiers. It is characterized by a 40-mm Bofors gun with a magazine of 24 bullets, which can penetrate even some older Russian tanks, such as the T-54/55 or T-62.
The CV9040C version has a more powerful engine with a power of 680 horsepower, which can accelerate the machine to 70 km/h, despite weighing over 27 tons. It has increased protection against mines, which is particularly useful in conditions of conflict abroad.
The vehicle can carry a six-person infantry team, which does not complain about the lack of space. This is a significant improvement over the BWP-1/2 machines, which were the main combat vehicles of the Ukrainians before receiving foreign aid. In the opinion of Ukrainians, CV9040C vehicles are so good that they want to continue their production together with Sweden, creating as many as 1,000 pieces of new machines.
