CV CCO 7 Palmas wins the Iberdrola Women’s League for the first time

The CV CCO 7 Palmas won the first title in its history this Sunday by winning the Iberdrola women’s league after overcoming at home Feel Volley Alcobendas in the fourth and last match of the final phase, the second played in the Madrid town, which had to be resolved in the gold set by 15-13.

The Luis Buñel pavilion witnessed a sublime volleyball match. The top two teams in the league were all on the court, displayed an extraordinary level and put on a luxurious show to the delight of the fans.

The Madrid women, after their defeat this Saturday, needed to win 3-0 or 3-1 to take the game into extra time and, encouraged by their audience, they succeeded.

The first two sets fell from the Alcobendense side by 25-19 and 25-18. Led by Sonia, the locals were more powerful in the attack and were very solid in the reception and in the blocks.

The Canary Islands broke the Madrid wall in the third (25-21) with powerful serves and a biting offense, but they did not manage to stop the momentum of Feel that prevailed 25-29 in the fourth to take the game to the extension.

The excessive equality between the two teams was inevitably resolved in a golden set that, after a very tight 15-13, gave the island the first title in their history.
