Fans of Hogwarts Legacy are now mourning what could have been, as it has been revealed that the game once had a reputation and morality system that was cut from the final version.
As noted in this post on Reddit, one of the players found cut content hidden in the game files. Youtuber GrandTheftDiamonds discovered a number of unused ideas in the Hogwarts Legacy code, but the most interesting thing is that he found traces of the reputation and morality system.
As explained in the post, at some point the developer created a reputation and morale system similar to the karma system in Red Dead Redemption 2. According to the video, players could lose House Points for performing certain actions, such as casting an Avada Kedavra spell cost 100 points, the Imperio spell cost 50 points, the Confringo spell cost 25 points, and so on.
Elsewhere in the Hogwarts Legacy files, it was revealed that a number of spells were also cut from the game. The video claims that spells such as Accio Maxima (summoning spell), Aguamenti (water spell), FiendFyre (powerful fire spell), Bat Bogeys curse (a spell that turns bugs into bats), stumble curse (self-explanatory), and others did not make it into the final version of the game.
On top of all this, the video also claims that a number of activities were cut from the game, including the ability to skip classes, the ability to be the class clown, the ability to commit crimes (such as theft, breaking and entering, etc.), the choice to bully classmates or protect them from bullies, and even the opportunity to study, gossip and get drunk. All of these things would make Hogwarts Legacy a completely different game.
