Customs – Zeuthen – video or hygiene concept: Another Santa Claus visit – culture

Berlin / Zeuthen (dpa / bb) – The pandemic is changing the business of Santa Claus actors: some rely on a visit through the screen and others on a hygiene concept. The Berlin company “Weihnachtsmann2Go”, for example, is offering video messages recorded for the second year in a row, which families can watch on Christmas Eve, said Tobias Groß from “Weihnachtsmann2Go”. Despite this solution, fewer families book a video message than a home visit before the pandemic.

The Christmas office in Zeuthen, Brandenburg, on the other hand, had found a different solution: A hygiene concept had been developed to enable gifts to be given in person, said Petra Henkert from the Christmas office. “In addition, the giving of presents takes place outside – that is more security for everyone”. Nevertheless, she also reported the decline in inquiries. “We are about a quarter of the bookings compared to the years before,” said Henkert.
