During the first check on Thursday, customs found 1050 kilos of cocaine on a sea-going vessel from the Moroccan port city of Tangier. The drugs were hidden in a container of car parts from Brazil. The parts were intended for a company in France.
On Friday, customs found 420 kilos of cocaine in a container loaded with paper. This container came from Chile and arrived at the port on Friday. The paper was intended for a company in South Africa.
The third and last find was also Friday and involved 531 kilos of cocaine in a container of raisins. The dried fruits were intended for a company in Sweden.
The three companies for which the containers were intended probably have nothing to do with the smuggling.
The drugs have since been destroyed. The HARC team, a partnership of Customs, FIOD, Xeehaven Police and the Public Prosecution Service in Rotterdam, is investigating the cases.
