Baden-Württemberg undeclared work: Customs controls the security industry

Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – In a nationwide focus test, customs in Baden-Württemberg checked numerous companies in the security and security industry. As the authorities announced on Monday, the controls last Friday and Saturday were about undeclared work and illegal employment.
According to their own statements, the main customs offices in Karlsruhe, Lörrach, Ulm and Heilbronn alone surveyed 790 employees in the security industry at various locations in the south-west. The main customs office in Stuttgart also confirmed that it had carried out checks, but initially gave no further information.
According to the main customs offices, further investigations will be necessary in more than 180 cases. Accordingly, several criminal and fine proceedings were initiated. Investigations are now being carried out, among other things, because of the withholding and embezzlement of wages and abuse of benefits.
