Customs: cancellation of the 3-month deposit and new concessions for the import of Egyptian cars abroad

Mohamed Ibrahim, spokesman for the Customs Agency, revealed the latest developments in the new concessions for the import of Egyptian cars abroad, recently approved by the Council of Ministers and entered into force.

Ibrahim said, during a telephone conversation with the media, Azza Mustafa, in the program “Tahrir Hall” broadcast on the channel “Sada Al-Balad”, that there have been facilitations in the filing process, which was essential 3 months before the purchasing processes. Which has been completely cancelled.

He adds that the bank account certification requirement has been lifted, and it was sufficient to present a bank statement only for 6 months before the transfer; To make sure the car owner has a bank account before importing the car, remembering that issuing the law to import cars of Egyptians abroad is easy and simple; When buyers run into problems, the government is ready to fix them.

He explained that a new mechanism has been set up for Egyptians abroad to allow them to obtain a car from approved free zones inside Egypt. And not only from abroad, remembering that when buying cars, climate change affecting the world is taken into account; Even imported cars that have no harmful emissions to the environment.

Interestingly, Dr. Mohamed Maait, Minister of Finance, confirmed that the new concessions for importing Egyptian cars abroad, recently approved by the Cabinet, have entered into force and the related electronic modifications will be included in the “ application” no later than next Thursday, explaining that the condition for the payment of the amount has been cancelled, which must be paid at least three months before the transfer, so it is sufficient to present an account statement for the six months preceding the date of the bank transfer, showing the payment, withdrawal and transfer movements, as well as abolishing the obligation to certify residence documents, bank statement and vehicle certificate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through embassies and diplomatic missions abroad.
