Al-Shahat Ghaturi, head of the Customs Authority, explained the number allowed to enter with travelers using mobile devices from Cairo Airport without customs.
Ghattouri said, during a telephone interview with the “Al-Hekaya” program, via MBC Egypt, that there is great flexibility in entering travelers’ mobile devices, and there are no complaints in this matter, except for those who request large quantities that are hidden.
He added that there is no problem with even 5 mobile devices that the traveler carries with him, indicating that devices can be exempted, and a not large amount of 10% customs tax and 14% value-added tax on some others should be paid.
The head of the Customs Authority pointed out that iPads, laptops and tablets are exempt from customs tax, as only their owners pay the value-added tax.
