EDF customers for gas and electricity left this supplier for electricity by subscribing to the winning offer of the recent UFC-Que Choisir Cheaper Energy Together operation, at -12.1% on the rate per kilowatt hour. But EDF has a funny surprise in store for them.
Like many EDF customers, our subscribers benefited from consumption monitoring, a service that they found very useful, both on their gas and electricity contract. If they left this supplier for the winning electricity offer from the recent UFC-Que Choisir Cheaper Energy operation, that of Octopus Energy which offers the kilowatt hour excluding taxes at -12.1% compared to at the regulated rate and at a fixed price over 2 years, they remained customers of EDF for their gas supply.
However, a few days after becoming Octopus Energy customers for electricity, they noticed a strange change on their EDF & me app. The monitoring of their gas consumption from which they benefited has disappeared. They obviously thought it was a bug. As it lasted, some complained to EDF. The response they received in writing is quite astonishing: “For the moment, our consumption monitoring solution is only accessible to our customers with an electricity or gas and electricity contract. »
Assuming this isn’t a retaliatory operation, it looks very much like one. We cannot imagine that a behemoth of the scale of EDF would not be able to monitor gas consumption on its app. EDF rather seems to want to force customers to keep their electricity contract, although its price is not the most competitive on the market, as our energy comparator shows.
