After less than two years of construction, the new Tiroler Versicherung building is coming to life. At the beginning of August, the employees moved into the customer office on the ground floor of the new Tiroler headquarters in the center of Innsbruck. The customer office was officially opened with an “open day”.
The first wooden high-rise in the centre of Innsbruck, the new headquarters of the Tyrolean company, is almost finished. The first step has been taken with the customer office employees moving into the ground floor. The Tyrolean board presented the new premises to the public as part of an open day. “Exactly two years ago, the demolition of our old building was in full swing. The fact that the first employees can already start work after such a short construction period is thanks on the one hand to the wooden construction, but on the other hand above all to the top quality of the local companies. We awarded 93 percent of the contract volume to Tyrolean companies,” explains board member Franz Mair.
The high quality of the bright rooms ultimately benefits employees and customers alike: In a central location, they find an optimal environment for high-quality advice and the best service.
Greater traffic safety through the new building
Passers-by also benefit from the architectural design, as Isolde Stieg explains. “The ground floor and the first floor of the new building are set back more than five meters in the area of the corner of Wilhelm-Greil-Straße and Gilmstraße. This setback creates a forecourt that defuses the corner between the property boundary and the underground car park entrance, which is difficult to see. In this way, we reduce the safety risk at this point and the entire square becomes significantly more pleasant to stay in.”
The approximately 100 square meter Tyrolean forecourt will be a place to meet, linger and chat – well protected from sun and rain. The approximately 30 square meter green wall on the south side of the entrance area will also be an eye-catcher. The opening ceremony showed that the forecourt is also ideal for small events.
Occupancy in October
Speaking of green walls: the greening of the facade is also starting these days. The business premises on the ground floor will be occupied in the next few weeks and months, and the upper floors will soon be full of life too: from November, 250 Tyrolean employees will be working in the new building.
