Cushman & Wakefield reinforces its Residential team after reaching 300 million in transactions

Cushman & Wakefield bets on its Residential and Alternative department, which closed 2021 with four transactions worth more than 300 million euros. It is the operation of sale & leaseback of the asset of senior living Forum Mare Nostrum, the acquisition of a student residence in Madrid, the sale for 97 million euros, a student residence in Barcelona to Commerz Real AG and an acquisition of more than 150 million euros of nursing homes in different locations.

Now, the company has incorporated Geoff McCabe as an associate, who will be part of a four-person team. McCabe will be in charge of strengthening the advisory service to promoters and investors in the sale and acquisition of PRS assets and Build to Rent.

As the firm explains, with this incorporation it consolidates its Residential and Alternatives team, supervised by Rupert Lea, international partner and member of the board of directors, and also made up of associates Michael Martínez McGough and Miles Leonard Millán.

Both have been developing the student and senior residence areas for several years, coming from the capital teams markets retail and C&W valuation, respectively. In this way, the consultant will advise large companies in various segments: residential Build to Rentstudent residences, health-related assets and senior livingas explained by the firm itself.

Previously, Geoff McCabe has served as Associate Director at CBRE UK and Associate Partner at Daniel Watney LLP, among others, where he specialized in the UK residential/BTR sector for 10 years.

In August 2020, Geoff led the sale of the UK’s first fully stabilized bespoke Build to Rent asset. In addition, he has advised residential transactions with a total value of approximately 3,000 million euros.

For his part, Michael Martínez McGough joined C&W in 2015, having worked in financial and real estate asset management at BBVA Asset Management, Merrill Lynch and Astorga.re. Miles Leonard Millán joined C&W in 2011 from The Ohio State University (Fisher School of Business).
