Curtis Samuel exits reservation / COVID-19 while DJ Moore will stay

Only Moore and defensive tackle Kerr remain on that list.

The wide receiver of the Carolina Panthers, Curtis Samuel, was activated on Friday from the reserve / COVID-19 list and will play on Sunday against the Denver Broncos.

However, his partner DJ Moore remains on the reserve list and is unlikely to be available by 1PM ET Moore has not practiced all week since he was one of eight players added to the reserve list / COVID-19 on Monday.

Of those on the list of 53 men placed on the reserve list, only Moore and the defensive tackle Zach Kerr stay in it. Samuel, outside linebacker Shaq Thompson and the defensive tackle Derrick Moore they were removed from the roster on Friday and all are expected to play on Sunday.

Defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos and offensive tackle Greg Little they were removed from the list for the past two days.

Coach Matt Rhule also reiterated what he said Thursday, that he does not expect the running back Christian McCaffrey (quadruple) played the Broncos after missing their second straight practice. McCaffrey is officially listed as doubtful.

Rhule did not comment on Moore O Kerr because it doesn’t talk about the players on the reserve / COVID-19 list.

Not having Moore and McCaffrey puts much of the receiving burden on Robby Anderson, who leads the team with 75 receptions for 912 yards, and Samuel, second among receivers with 54 receptions.

Moore has 50 receptions for a team of 924 yards and four touchdowns. No other wide receiver on the active roster has more than four catches.

McCaffrey could have lessened the stress of not having Moore. Carolina’s leader in receptions for the past three seasons was on track to return from a shoulder injury before aggravating a quadriceps injury on Wednesday that he initially sustained last week while the team was on vacation.

He did not practice on Thursday or Friday after being a limited participant on Wednesday.

This will likely be the fourth straight game the 2019 Pro Bowl selection has missed and the 10th in 11 games. He missed six followed by a sprained ankle and three by a shoulder injury.
