Good soybean prices but low production Beyond that in the last trite squares of the region the figures obtained improved, the average yield remains at 31.1 qq / ha, with the lowest production contribution of the last 10 years, 14 , 5 M Tn. The 20/21 season was marked by drought. In the north of Buenos Aires, the average yields of first-class soybeans were only between 29 and 35 qq / ha. The second brand between 16 and 20 qq / ha.
The engineers agree that due to the rise in the price of grains, the campaign closed, in most cases, with positive margins. Otherwise, “many companies would have ended in bankruptcy”, they mention in Caada Rosqun. Threshing is in the last section, there are only 160 thousand hectares of second-hand soybeans left standing and very few first-class batches. The north of Buenos Aires is the most backward part of the region. In San Antonio de Areco, the few remaining first class squares have been completed and the second grade soybean harvest progress is 60%. In Lincoln, 20% of the second-rate soybeans remain to be harvested.
Cordobs corn stands out with yields that reached 150 qq / ha
–
In Monte Maz, the average yield of early corn ended at 150 qq / ha and the floors were, nothing more and nothing less, between 120 and 130 qq / ha. In Marcos Jurez the averages were between 130 and 140 qq / ha and in the areas with less rainfall, they were 110 qq / ha. Once again, corn from the southeast cordobs takes the best position. In the south center of Santa Fe the average yields range from 90 to 115 qq / ha. The north of Buenos Aires remains with the lowest position, averaging between 55 to 90 qq / ha. Very few batches remain to be collected in the region. The north of Buenos Aires continues with the greatest backwardness; 15% of the lots have to be raised.
With no rain in sight, expectations for wheat sowing remain
–
May, the starting month of the sowing, is shaping up to be dry. There are reserves in depth but rains are needed in the arable layer to unblock the sowing. Eastern Cordoba is the only area that currently plans to make more wheat. The intention of sowing wheat is to increase by 50% the area commented by the Marcos Jurez area. This week they started to sow while the rest of the areas are waiting for rain for the arable layer and to start at the end of this month. The forecasts do not predict rain for the next week. The northwest of Buenos Aires shows conditions of scarce water and requires rainfall of at least 40 to 60 mm.
In full fallow, the fine warms up
Between chemical controls and frost, the fallow weeds are given battle. The minimum temperatures reached -1.5C fighting summer weeds and guacho crops. The difficult ones heard in the area are resistant Raygrass, Eragrostis, black branch, resistant turnip and the Chloris complex. The integral management of wheat and its technological package has been optimized in recent years. We have been using the best fertilization possible for two years, they say in the Caada de Gomez area. This campaign, despite the substantial increase in fertilizers, will maintain the doses of nutrients similar to the previous campaign.
