Current: Rail traffic in the Jungfernheide area interrupted

This morning, employees of Deutsche Bahn AG discovered disruptions in rail operations. According to investigations to date, the control center of Deutsche Bahn AG informed the federal police at around 3:00 a.m. about disruptions in rail operations between the Jungfernheide and Beusselstraße stations. Federal police officers searched the affected area, found a fire in a cable shaft near Neues Ufer in Berlin-Charlottenburg and alerted the fire brigade, which extinguished the fire. Investigators from the Berlin State Office of Criminal Investigation took over the scene and began investigating the cause of the fire. The investigation is ongoing. The disruptions will continue into next week.

The S-Bahn Berlin informs:

Due to disruption caused by vandalism in the Jungfernheide area, train service on lines S41 and S42 between Westend and Gesundbrunnen is interrupted.

The affected lines operate as follows:

  • S41: Beusselstraße > Gesundbrunnen > Ostkreuz > Südkreuz > Westkreuz > Westend every 10 minutes
  • S42: Westend > Westkreuz > Südkreuz > Ostkreuz > Gesundbrunnen > Beusselstraße every 10 minutes

A replacement bus service has been set up between Westend and Beusselstraße.

Replacement bus stops:

  • S-Bahn station Westend: Spandauer Damm (like bus M45)
  • S+U-Bhf. Jungfernheide: Tegeler Weg (like bus 109)
  • S-Bhf. Beusselstr.: Beusselstr. (wie Bus 106, 123, N26)

To avoid the area, please also use the following detour options:

  • between S+U Tempelhof S+U Wedding the U6
  • between S+U Hermannstraße S+U Gesundbrunnen the U8
  • between S+U Bundesplatz S+U Westhafen the U9
  • between S+U Neukölln S+U Jungfernheide the U7

Deutsche Bahn informs:

Due to vandalism, the route between Berlin Hbf (tief) and Berlin-Spandau is currently affected. There are cancelled stops and delays in Deutsche Bahn’s long-distance services.

The following long-distance connections are affected:

  • Individual ICE and EC trains with scheduled stops at Berlin Hbf and Berlin-Spandau will be diverted within Berlin and will therefore be delayed by around 20 minutes. These will no longer stop at Berlin-Spandau.

We recommend the following travel alternatives: Guests to and from Berlin-Spandau should use the remaining long-distance trains running via Berlin-Spandau or the Berlin Hbf stop and the local trains running via the Stadtbahn between Berlin Hbf and Berlin-Spandau.

The following regional connections are affected:

  • RE4: All trains on the RE4 line will be diverted from Berlin-Spandau to Ludwigsfelde with stops in Berlin Zoologischer Garten, Berlin Ostbahnhof and Berlin Ostkreuz. The stops at Berlin Jungfernheide, Berlin Potsdamer Platz, Berlin Südkreuz and Berlin-Lichterfelde Ost will be cancelled. Please use the RE3 trains between Berlin Hbf and Ludwigsfelde as a replacement.

  • RE6: Cancellation of all trains on the RE6 line between Hennigsdorf (b Berlin) and Berlin-Charlottenburg. Please use the Berlin S-Bahn trains as a replacement.

  • RB10: All trains on the RB10 line will be diverted from Berlin-Spandau to Berlin Zoologischer Garten with a stop in Berlin-Charlottenburg. The stops at Berlin Jungfernheide, Berlin Hbf, Berlin Potsdamer Platz and Berlin Südkreuz will be cancelled. Please use the Berlin S-Bahn trains as a replacement.

  • RB14: Cancellation of all trains on the RB14 line from Nauen to Berlin Südkreuz. Please use the RE2 and RB10 trains as a replacement (different from/to Berlin Zoologischer Garten).

  • RB21: All trains on the RB21 line start and end in Berlin-Spandau. The stops in Berlin Jungfernheide and Berlin Gesundbrunnen are no longer available.
