First female president at the Police College

July 14, 2021 | Subject area: Brandenburg | To press

Prof. Dr. Heike Wagner is the first woman to head the Police College in Oranienburg (Oberhavel district). The Minister of the Interior, Michael Stübgen, presented the certificate of appointment today in Potsdam. Wagner takes over the management from Rainer Grieger. Last year he switched to the Ministry of the Interior as head of department. Since then, Vice President Dr. Jochen Christe-Zeyse takes over the official business.

Stübgen: “The president of the university has one of the key positions in the training of the Brandenburg police. The future of well-trained and qualified police officers lies in their hands and those of the committed teachers. Recruiting young talent, further training, the maintenance and development of police-related sciences as well as the representation of the Brandenburg police to the outside world are just a few of the many topics. It is a special honor for me to work with Prof. Dr. Wagner to appoint the first female president of the University of Police in Brandenburg. She has already proven her outstanding leadership personality several times in the past. My special thanks also go to Dr. Christe-Zeyse, who has been in charge of official business to date – in addition to his other duties at the university. He mastered this balancing act in an excellent way. “

All police officers for the State of Brandenburg are trained at the Police College. The location has been in Oranienburg for 15 years. There are currently more than 1,000 candidates in the two-and-a-half-year training course or three-year course at the same time.
