Limburg-Weilburg. The district administration has announced that as of Sunday, May 2, 2021, midnight, 687 people are actively infected with the corona virus in the Limburg-Weilburg district. They are distributed in Limburg (164), Weilburg (62), Hadamar (52), Elz (47), Bad Camberg (41), Dornburg (40), Mengerskirchen (35), Villmar (34), Waldbrunn (31), Selters (29), Weilmünster (29), Hünstelden (25), Beselich (25), Runkel (22), Brechen (15), Weinbach (10), Elbtal (10), Löhnberg (8) and Merenberg (8)
So far, there have been a total of 8495 confirmed cases (+51 on the previous day) – a total of 1689 cases were found to have a mutation – 7551 people have now recovered (+32 on the previous day). Of the currently infected 365 people are affected by a mutation. 1393 people are currently in quarantine in the district. Unfortunately, 257 people died in connection with the corona virus, most recently one person in the hospital in Limburg. In the hospitals of the district there are currently 62 people infected with corona, 44 people in normal care beds and 18 in intensive care beds. In order to ensure the best possible care for Corona patients, there may be transfers between hospitals.
The incidence is 182.1. The incidence describes the number of new infections with the corona virus per 100,000 inhabitants within 7 days. To calculate the incidence of the Limburg-Weilburg district, the Robert Koch Institute assumes a population of 171,912. The Limburg-Weilburg district was the only district in Hesse to have had a general decree since December 11, 2020, according to which corona tests had to be carried out regularly in facilities and also in hospitals. Since the state has created such obligations for the facilities in the meantime due to the Corona facility protection ordinance, corresponding regulations of the district for the hospitals are still in place. As a precaution, a visit ban was issued in a facility in Villmar, and an outbreak is being investigated. A test of the facility has been arranged for the coming week.
Positive cases are currently reported at the following daycare centers: Kiga Lollipop Elz, Kita Linter, Kita Hintermeilingen and Kita Neesbach. A quarantine was then to be ordered in the four facilities.
In the Limburg-Weilburg district, 33,574 people have received the first vaccination so far, and the second vaccinations are currently running within the specified time frame. Around 700 people from our district were also vaccinated at the vaccination center in Wiesbaden. Vaccinations that are carried out in general practitioners’ practices are not included in these statistics, as there is no report to the district.
