According to the RKI, the incidence of corona in Munich, Bavaria and Germany also decreases at the weekend. ICU bed occupancy remains high.
445.6. No, this is not the Munich incidence value, but the highest in Germany – according to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), this is measured in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony. The Bavarian state capital is well below this: the value is 86.8. The Free State of Bavaria is also well below the maximum with an incidence of 114.4. Throughout Germany, the RKI gives a value of 184.8.

Corona in Munich, Bavaria and Germany: Current data on incidence and hospital occupancy
For comparison: last Sunday, the Munich RKI reported an incidence of 115.3. Friday’s reading was 90.5. A similar picture can be observed for the Free State of Bavaria (Sunday: 164.0; Friday: 125.1).
However, these values should be interpreted with caution. The Bavarian State Office for Health and Food Safety (LGL) no longer transmits data to the RKI on weekends and public holidays. Experience has therefore shown that the corona incidence in Munich and Bavaria at the weekend and at the beginning of the new week is distorted. Cases will be reported throughout the week. As a result, the number fluctuates from weekday to weekday.
The RKI also writes on its case number website that several federal states no longer report infection numbers on weekends. It should also be borne in mind that experts have long assumed that there will be a large number of RKI-unrecorded cases, mainly because by far not all infected people have had a PCR test done.
Therefore, the krona numbers for Germany should also be viewed with caution. Here too there is a decrease in the number of cases compared to last Sunday (incidence of 222.2). Last Friday the value was 194.3.
Corona in Munich and Bavaria: Hospital occupancy remains extremely high – many intensive care beds are occupied
The number of free intensive care beds in Munich is currently to be viewed critically. According to the Divi intensive care registry, this has been problematic for less than 15%. Worse with less than ten percent: This percentage of beds must be at least vacant in order to be able to treat acute emergencies (e.g. stroke or heart attack) well.
Currently, 25 of the 432 intensive care beds are free in the Bavarian state capital. This corresponds to a share of 5.79%. 16 of the beds are currently occupied by corona patients. This corresponds to a share of 3.7%. Of these, eight people are invasively formalized. This means that the proportion of Covid patients in intensive care units is decreasing. However, overall employment remains critical.
Throughout Bavaria, the situation in intensive care units is somewhat more relaxed. Out of a total of 3,023 beds, 385, i.e. 12.74 percent, are free. The proportion of corona patients – in relation to the total number of beds – is 3.64% in Bavaria. This corresponds to 110 occupied beds. 34 of the Covid patients are treated invasively.
