Current account, what happens if you exceed this limit? “Attention”

The Current Account is one of the savings management / conservation systems that allows citizens to take advantage of even rather diversified services: withdrawal, sending and receiving of bank transfers, account management (which now takes place mainly through the official app of their bank) but also the possibility of being able to have debits, loans and more or less freely disburse checks, as well as being able to use a credit card. Compared to a prepaid card, therefore, the possibilities are greater but also current account holders must “be careful” of certain limits.

In fact, these are applied indiscriminately to any form of electronic economic instrument, therefore also to current accounts. These are conceived and applied under various measures on any form of money management so as to reduce any “suspicious” transactions, ie relating to “movements” that may betray illegal maneuvers. Money laundering, undeclared work and above all tax evasion are very important issues and with the spread of electronic money, those who really intend to “escape” the controls must also resort to ATMs, current accounts and the like.

These limits are triggered mainly for two reasons: actual transactions of a certain amount (usually over thousands of euros) not properly declared for the tax authorities, or simply “not justified”. Even if there are no limits on the “amount” that you can have on your current account and not even in relation to wire transfers. Controls tend to “trigger” especially if amounts exceeding 15,000 are received from countries outside the Euro zone: in this case it is the Revenue Agency, through the UIF, ie theFinancial Information Unita for Italy a unit used precisely to “find out” these situations. The limits on cash withdrawn from the account are usually high enough to be able to generate effective interest from the Revenue Agency: usually the limit is 10 thousand euros per month.
