Felix Neureuther is a real family man. The German ex-racing driver is happily married and the father of three children. Now a curious detail has become known about the 39-year-old: Neureuther gives out money for bad grades.
In the Spotlight video podcast by former footballer René Adler and actor Milan Marcus, Neureuther’s wife Miriam revealed: “Felix distributes money for fivers in religion.” The former racing runner immediately added: “You’re not allowed to say that out loud.” Host René Adler explains then grinning, “He is actively working on turning away from the church.” Neureuther continues: “But you have to say that my father always did that to me too. But I still wasn’t allowed to fail.”
That’s what lies behind it
The Bavarian ski legend left the church in the wake of the abuse scandal at Ettal Monastery. “If there’s one thing I’ll never forgive in my life, it’s when someone attacks a child. Then I become an animal. Child abuse is the worst thing you can do,” said Neureuther.
