Outnumbered after red for goalkeeper of SG Bornheim, who picks up the ball in the wrong place. Münster fights 1-0 to start the association league and makes coach Selmanaj proud.
SOUTH HESSEN – southern Hesse. In the Verbandsliga Süd, Rot-Weiss Darmstadt beat SG Bornheim 4-0, giving the new season an ideal start. Despite numerous failures, SV Münster secured a lucky but hard-earned 1-0 win against SC Dortelweil.
RW Darmstadt – SG Bornheim 4: 0 (1: 0). Darmstadt consistently used a counterattack via Lerch and Sancak, which Neumann (9th) converted to make it 1-0. Bornheim suffered a setback a good ten minutes later when goalkeeper Colombo caught the ball in front of the penalty area and was sent off by referee Ney. The red-whites could not take advantage of it until the break, Tala (36th) failed with a shot at SG substitute keeper Flamme. After a good hour, however, the Darmstadt team developed more penetrating power in front of goal and used their superiority: Mustefa (61′) scored the 2-0 after preparatory work by Schmieder, before Sancak (65′) scored the 3-0 after a long ball. Bohn (89th) finally marked the 4-0 final score with a penalty kick.
“We were good in the game and in the urge phase there was a strange scene in front of the penalty area. But we needed a little time to use the space that opened up,” commented Dominik Lohrer on the first half and continued: ” It was clear that we would score the second goal with the necessary patience, and we also managed to counterattack twice. I’m totally satisfied with the start and how it went,” said the RW coach.
SV Munster – SC Dortelweil 1-0 (0-0). Münster didn’t really get into the game in the first round and was lucky that the promoted team didn’t make enough use of the field advantages. The hosts only got more access and game shares after the break and as a result of a change. Arian Sahitolli (69th) failed with a penalty at SC keeper Rühl, until then great chances for both sides were limited to isolated aluminum hits. Butt (77th) finally extended after a cross from Ries and thus scored the lucky but not undeserved winning goal of the sports club.
“It was super complicated and we were really lucky until we switched at the break,” said SVM coach Naser Selmanaj about the game, but praised his team for their will to win: “First we missed a penalty kick and in the end we won happy, but it was a victory of will. And we can be proud of this achievement.”
