NEW YORK – Two New York men took a heroic action after rescuing a severely distressed deer from the Long Island Sound.
And it is that apparently the deer sniffed in a paint can and his head ended up trapped in it, leaving him blind.
The little animal was swimming in circles around Port Jefferson Harbord Sunday afternoon, until two men in a boat approached and were able to remove the can from its head.
The men were then able to catch up to the deer again and escorted it to shore, where it ran happily into a wooded area.
The organization in charge of animal rescue, Strong Island Animal Rescue, captured the event on video and it was posted on its Facebook page.
