curfew temporarily suspended –

The president of the transition, General Oligui Nguema, announced during his Republican tour in Oyem the suspension of the curfew from December 24, 2023 to January 2, 2024 due to the end-of-year celebrations.

“The President of the Transition, President of the Republic, Head of State decides to suspend the curfew from December 24, 2023 to January 2, 2024,” indicates the press release made public by the Spokesperson of the Transition Committee for the restoration of institutions, Lieutenant-Colonel Ulrich Manfoumbi Manfoumbi.

Indeed, this decision taken by the president of the transition aims to allow populations to spend the end-of-year holidays in peace. The transition and restoration of institutions committee emphasizes that “the end-of-year celebrations constitute a strong moment in the life of the Nation and families”.

Note that the curfew was established by the president of the transition after the coup d’état of August 30, 2023 in Gabon.
