It is a little more than 8 pm this Wednesday evening in the center of the village of Villiers Charlemagne in Mayenne.
Eight gendarmes from the Château-Gontier brigade control the passing vehicles for an hour.
Objective: to show their presence for the holidays and to prove their determination to enforce the curfew hours.
No one should travel without a valid reason between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Among the admissible reasons: travel to or from work.
But in this case a certificate from the employer must prove it.
On 25 vehicles checked, 3 tickets at 135 euros are made.
And bad luck for bad drivers. “We also obviously take the opportunity to do the usual checks ” specifies Captain Jean-François Bruneau who directs the operation.
This is what a young driver will experience who has to leave his car and go back in the police van. In question a blood alcohol level higher than that authorized.
